Maxy MIDI: Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 2026
PDS Technology Ltd (“we”, “us”, “our”) is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains how the Maxy MIDI iOS app (“Maxy MIDI”, “the app”) handles your information. In short: Maxy MIDI collects nothing. It has no accounts, no analytics, no advertising and no third-party code of any kind, and nothing leaves your device except the MIDI and OSC messages you ask it to send to machines on your own network. We are a company registered in England and Wales (company number 16504157), with our registered office at 71–75 Shelton Street, Covent Garden, London, WC2H 9JQ.
Information we collect
We collect no personal data through the app. Maxy MIDI has no user accounts, no sign-in, and no server operated by us. Your boards, pages, scenes, patches and recordings are files in the app’s own container on your device, are deleted with the app, and are never sent to PDS Technology Ltd. We have no access to any of them.
The app never fetches anything from the internet. Every template, the bundled Ableton Live script and the full help section ship inside the app and work with no internet connection at all.
Local network
Maxy MIDI asks for permission to use your local network. It uses it only to find music software on your Mac or PC, to run the Wi-Fi MIDI network session, and to send and receive OSC, using the standard Bonjour services for Apple MIDI and OSC. The connections it makes are to computers you choose on your own network. No data is sent anywhere else, and no information about your network is collected or stored.
Bluetooth
The app asks for Bluetooth access only to connect to wireless MIDI controllers and adapters over Bluetooth LE, and to let a computer find the device. The pairing screens are the system’s own. No location is derived from Bluetooth and nothing about nearby devices is recorded.
Microphone and audio input
The spectrum analyser, the level meter and tap tempo from audio listen to the microphone or to a connected audio interface. The app asks for microphone access only when you use one of those features. Audio is analysed on the device and drawn on screen as it arrives. It is never recorded to a file, never stored and never sent anywhere.
The app declares the audio background mode so that the clock and any held notes stay alive while another music app is in front, which is what any MIDI controller has to do. That mode does not record anything.
Apple Intelligence
On devices that support it, Prompt Presets and the Ask field in the help use Apple Intelligence on the device. The text you type is processed on the device by Apple’s own framework; the app sends nothing to us, and whether anything is processed by Apple is governed by Apple’s own settings and privacy policy.
Boards and files you share
Boards, mapping sheets, DAW scripts, recordings and patches are created on your device and shared with Apple’s standard share sheet, by AirDrop or saved to Files. You choose where they go, and nothing passes through us.
Maxy MIDI Pro and purchases
The app offers one in-app purchase, Maxy MIDI Pro, which is processed entirely by Apple through the App Store. We receive no personal details, payment information or contact details from it. Restoring the purchase on another device is also handled by Apple, using the Apple Account signed in on that device.
Analytics and tracking
Maxy MIDI contains no analytics, no advertising, and no third-party tracking. We do not use cookies or any tracking technologies, and we do not build any profile of you or what you make. The app’s privacy manifest declares no data collected and no tracking, and this policy says the same thing.
Contacting support
If you email us for support at support@pds-technology.ltd, we will receive your email address and whatever you include in your message. The Contact support button in the app pre-fills the app version, the iOS version and the device model to save you looking them up. We use what you send solely to respond to you, and never for marketing or sharing with third parties.
Legal basis and your rights
Because the app does not collect personal data, there is normally no personal data for us to hold. Where we do process limited information, for example support correspondence you send us, we do so on the basis of our legitimate interest in responding to your enquiry, in line with UK data protection law.
Under UK data protection law you have rights over any personal data we hold about you, including the right to access, correct, or erase it. To exercise these rights, or if you have any concerns, contact us at support@pds-technology.ltd or by writing to PDS Technology Ltd, 71–75 Shelton Street, Covent Garden, London, WC2H 9JQ. If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with a revised “Last updated” date.
