Stereogram Studio: Privacy Policy
Last updated: September 2026
PDS Technology Ltd (“we”, “us”, “our”) is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains how the Stereogram Studio iOS app (“Stereogram Studio”, “the app”) handles your information. In short: Stereogram Studio collects nothing. It has no accounts, no analytics and no advertising, and it never sends anything to us. We are a company registered in England and Wales (company number 16504157), with our registered office at 71–75 Shelton Street, Covent Garden, London, WC2H 9JQ.
Information we collect
We collect no personal data through the app. Stereogram Studio has no user accounts, no sign-in, and no server operated by us. Your projects, patterns, generated pictures, decoded reliefs, videos and books all live on your device (and, if you choose, in your own iCloud Drive), are deleted with the app, and are never sent to PDS Technology Ltd. We have no access to any of them.
The app never fetches anything from the internet. Everything it needs, including every bundled shape and pattern and the full Learn section, ships inside the app and works offline.
Photos, files and the camera
The app asks for access to your photos, files or camera only when you choose a source that needs it, and uses what you pick solely for the job you asked for:
- Photos and Files: importing a 3D model, a depth image, a picture to use as a pattern or overlay, a photograph to lift a subject from, or a stereogram to decode; and saving or exporting what you make. Only the items you select are read.
- Camera: photographing a printed stereogram to decode it, photographing something to cut out, and live depth capture on devices with a LiDAR camera. Frames are processed on the device as you watch and are not stored unless you freeze one.
Depth information from a Portrait-mode or LiDAR photograph is read on the device to build the relief and is never uploaded anywhere.
iCloud sync
You can optionally switch on iCloud sync in Settings for your project library, and separately for your pattern library. When you do, the app stores those files in your own iCloud Drive under your own Apple Account, so they appear on your other devices. This is Apple’s service, governed by Apple’s privacy policy; PDS Technology Ltd has no access to your iCloud Drive. Switching sync off keeps everything on the device.
Export Unlock and purchases
The app offers one in-app purchase, Export Unlock, which is processed entirely by Apple through the App Store. We receive no personal details, payment information or contact details from it. Restoring the purchase on another device is also handled by Apple, using the Apple Account signed in on that device.
Sharing what you make
Pictures, videos, sprite sheets, PDF books, project and pattern files and word stereograms are created on your device and shared with Apple’s standard share sheet or saved to Files. You choose where they go, and nothing passes through us.
Analytics and tracking
Stereogram Studio contains no analytics, no advertising, and no third-party tracking. We do not use cookies or any tracking technologies, and we do not build any profile of you or what you make. The app’s privacy manifest declares no data collected and no tracking, and this policy says the same thing.
Contacting support
If you email us for support at support@pds-technology.ltd, we will receive your email address and whatever you include in your message, and we use that solely to respond to you. We do not use it for marketing or share it with third parties.
Legal basis and your rights
Because the app does not collect personal data, there is normally no personal data for us to hold. Where we do process limited information, for example support correspondence you send us, we do so on the basis of our legitimate interest in responding to your enquiry, in line with UK data protection law.
Under UK data protection law you have rights over any personal data we hold about you, including the right to access, correct, or erase it. To exercise these rights, or if you have any concerns, contact us at support@pds-technology.ltd or by writing to PDS Technology Ltd, 71–75 Shelton Street, Covent Garden, London, WC2H 9JQ. If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with a revised “Last updated” date.
